The Tree House

The Tree House is a magnificent solid log thatch home with so much glass for light and views, huge stately sliding doors, fabulous decor and spectacular finishes with top of the range appliances, and is located in a small town called Presidentsrus, that is surrounded by mountains and in the bush with the Great Olifants River running through it, and a 15 minute drive from both Emalahleni (Witbank) and Middelburg in Mpumalanga and only 1.5 hours from Jo'burg and Pretoria.

The layout of the house

The house is made of solid wood tree stumps and has a magnificent high ceiling thatched roof.  It has so much glass for views and light and large retractable wooden glass sliding doors in every room that allow light and views of the bush and beautiful surrounding indigenous trees, Lanatus cycads and sandstone rocks to flow in.
There are two very expansive luxurious bedrooms, one with a king-sized extra length bed and two single bed sized day beds, (that can also sleep two children), and the other bedroom with a queen-sized extra length bed.  Each bedroom has a full en suite very spacious bathroom, with fabulous "stone" baths, very impressive upmarket stainless steel showers with adjustable settings and rustic granite stone basins.  There is lots of cupboard space and the one bedroom has a large sitting area too.  The living area is open plan and has two huge flop down couch beds with single bed mattresses that can be used to sleep two more children.  (The house sleeps 8 people in total - 4 adults and 4 children.)  The kitchen is wood with over generous solid kiaat tops and is fully equipped for self-catering with absolutely everything you will need for cooking, braaiing and entertaining and has first class appliances.  There is also a Union no. 7 fireplace that is fantastic for heating and ambience in winter and cooking potjies and baking (not to mention it generating a constant supply of "boeretroos" too!)  There are two dining areas - inside as well as on the deck that the living room opens up onto.  The deck has a view through the trees over the little town, on the Great Olifants River and the majestic mountains that circle the town.  Sunsets from the decks have to be the best you have EVER seen in your life and all of them one of a kind.
