Ohhh the hikes!
The magnificent Cycad Hiking Trail starts 200m from The Tree House and, although it could be a bit challenging for a person not used to this type of activity, it is exhilerating and an absolute must on the list of the to do adventures. The Lenatus cycads are there in their thousands for the eye to feast on! (They are not transplantable and hence their abundance.) The views of the gorgeous indigenous trees (some very rare), gigantic sandstone rocks, sightings of wildlife like baboons, monkeys, buck, eagles and spectacular sightings of the sheer cliff drops down to the Great Olifants River on either side of you are to die for along the way, and your adventure will be talked about and longed for forever afterwards!
Fishing
And the fishing is not to be scoffed at either... black bass and yellowfish are plentiful in our section of the Great Olifants River but of course you need the skill to match. The ordinary fish are here for the taking too like carp and barbel. So much fun for the whole family!
Big adventure for the little ones
So much exploring and adventure for the kids including cycling on our paved roads, tubing, fishing, four wheeler riding, lots of fun on the bridge when the Great Olifants River is in a lighter flood. (Please bring your own equipment.)

The Bezhoek Private Nature Reserve is one of the most beautiful spots in nature you can behold and is next door to our little town. They have a large variety of wild animals and offer game drives, mountain biking routes, hiking routes and more. We will gladly put you in touch with them to find out more about what they render and their rates.
The Olifants River Lodge is down the road from us and our guests can visit there as day visitors according to availability and at a fee. They offer a large variety of facilities and activities including restaurants and pubs, heated indoor and outdoor pools and water slides, younger children's play areas and jungle gyms, table tennis, pool, paddleboating, big chess, as well as a fabulous new putt putt course.
